WKTRS - Episode Nineteen - Cease Fire!

Cut and bruised, but not as much as expected, David & Liam have returned with stories from Robert’s paintballing party. A full day event, from half seven in the morning onwards, the sleepy hosts make their way there in different cars and have different stories of the banter (or lack thereof) during the journey. David & Liam are met with warnings of scams, liability forms and many opportunities to make idiots of themselves. David starts a war with a woman and are at each other’s throat the entire day, with him ultimately losing out, so takes the time to have his say on the matter. Not your most competitive types, the hosts find themselves bantering whilst getting shot at and get comfortable behind cover. However, they constantly run out of paintballs, get shot at and even find a opportunity to do some Rambo style killing. The news stories this week involves a man spending a lot of time in a garden shed and another crazy Japanese festival. After a hard days paintballing the gang get together to have some banter and some booze at Liam’s pad. David gets asked to go get a ps3 from down the road and is having none of it whilst Liam and James try to get a hold of the Missing In Action Robert, who gets there…eventually. TV entertained the group as they enjoyed watching a woman getting punched in the face during X Factor and get upset watching a Top 50 list on MTV. There is a follow-up to the highly argued case of Steven Slater, the man well known for jumping out of an emergency exit on a plane a few weeks ago. Birthday party season has begun with David & Liam attending a go-karting party for Boozecast guest James. David makes an unbelievable blunder in his attempt at getting a birthday present and is constantly harassed on the phone; James makes crazy efforts to save a few pounds on a taxi and Liam gets offered a three wheel car – even before they arrive at the race track! Very important information is relayed to them via a video showing the correct step-by-step method to sit down in a seat and what dozens of different coloured flags mean. David crashes spectacularly and fails at reading graphs while Liam gets attacked with a screwdriver. The party continues at pizza hut where an individual pizza is shared and the price of coke discussed in great length. As all good parties do it ended with a few drunken people in a house discussing anything and everything they wanted. The news stories this week lead to this show title and a man is made unhappy by a traffic warden. David goes to a college interview, gets lost, confused and goes on a rant, all this week on the We Killed The Radio Star Podcast!

David has been called up for jury service the day after his 18^th birthday and goes on a rant about his inability to do so. The many hours in the car, valet parking, posh barmen, going shopping and massive fireplaces are all on the agenda. Also David goes to an Open Championship practise day and meets a famous golfer! An introduction of a new segment to the podcast leads to stories about living long and what we would do in bear attacks. David & Liam discuss some interesting cinema experiences including mental staff, common sense, shouting loonys and sleeping. Liam returns from his Zante adventure and is full of stories and tales to tell from his drunken fortnight. The barely legal explains what it was like buying alcohol for the first time, watching others line up at the wrong check-in desk and expresses his anger towards a flight safety video. Liam explains the correlation between landing in Zante and arriving in Afghanistan and gets mobbed by bars and restaurants wanting him to come in. There are fears for his decency after a few situations with intrusive maids, finds his way around the strip and Disco gets “Disco” henna tattooed to his arm during the England world cup game. Liam justifies his want to smoke cigars and someone decides to do the toilet on a chair, all this week on The We Killed The Radio Star Podcast!

Having got their memory back, David and Liam start the show reminiscing on prom night, its successes, its failures and its funny moments, including almost dying whilst doing the conga, getting a funny picture taken, negotiating with a photographer and giving three cheers for McDonalds! David and Liam get angry at a news story about a patriotic pet cheering on the English squad. Liam holds himself back in school after unnessasarily being told to go in one day leaving him to go on a wild goose chase. Liam makes a nuisense call, gets mixed up and delivers a check to a hotel. David tells the story going to a posh hair salon and the awkwardness which follows. Having obviously putting alot of thought into it, the hosts also give a list of the top five things they want to do before they die, some sensible, some crazy. This side-splitting episode somehow begins with more discussion of Milkman as David finds an article talking about how they were making a re-appearance and attempting to find people to deliver cheese to his door. David goes on an outing to celebrate all his friends finishing their exams, making the unwise decision to see 4.3.2.1. They visit the bizzare Hawkins Baazar and get emotionally attached to a puppet, playing Simpson’s Cluedo, getting kicked out of a friends house and ’sleeping over’ at a pal’s pad. Oh, yeah, the title of the show will also become evident. The talk continues as they discuss going to an intimate Preston Reed concert, getting stuff signed and getting a response from him on twitter. The World Cup is on Liams mind as they discuss their predictions for the worldwide event and talk about the charity event Soccer Aid. All this week on We Killed The Radio Star! Returning to normaility, this week David explains his disgust at a marketing campaign where although living in Scotland we get £10 off a television for every goal England scores. David survives the Slayer concert and tells his story full of craziness and insanity to Liam, including Funny Graffiti, Fan trying to break in to Slayer’s bus, using Alcohol to lure the Extreme Metal band from their coach, epic flyers and flyer burning, getting headered, walking topless and touching McDonalds cups together with a randomer. Bizzare conversation continues as David & Liam discuss weird arabic music being played loudly at a Stations of The Cross event at school and a friend saying he would make a good wife. They laugh at a DVD portraying priests as superheroes, mourn the deaths of the late Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper and find Elvis at Obama’s inauguration. Daivd & Liam tell the story of when the went to a Domestic Violence talk, this is another fun one, including “where in the world is kilmardinny”, Liam put in charge if David has a heart attack, white ribbons, men sterotypes, the cool way to smoke a cigarette and the reason for this episode title. Returning from the week exams break, David and Liam kick off with random discussion about the necessity of milkman and driving as Liam sits his driving lesson and reveals his results to David on air. Stories from the last day at high school as they discuss the joy of graduating and the craziness following. Including the need to avoid the schools traditional ‘muck-up day’, David getting all of his school successes taken away from him, the most pointless buffet ever, Liam being one of the worst group of pizza hut customers ever, discussion of Hot Tub Time Machine and the party at David’s house, where darts was played by not-so sober individuals. Both of the hosts get phone calls during the podcast and scramble to answer it, to both of their amusement. David and Liam discuss their experiences of going to two Mastodon concerts featuring the most insane frontman for one the supporting acts, Liam getting spat on and then publically apologuized too, David’s head getting thrusted towards a sweaty man’s chest, Liam losing his glasses and getting locked inside a McDonalds. Lots of fun on this weeks podcast!

This week Liam begins with two stories one involving a dipstick and the worst possible thing you could possibly say and the other involving him saying “Sir, ive wrote you a poem”. David takes a bet on whether someone is a girl or a guy and attempts to find out their gender. The only reason Liam likes Charles Dickens. The main topic this week was the trip David and Liam took to a servant leadership overnight course in Coatbridge. This is a long one involving attempting to get directions to a Catholic Education Centre, Cheating with the principle in a pointless game, David giving an overly animated speech on communication, making a five foot newspaper tower, the worst invention ever, the burning of our sins and an incredible story involving Herbal Essensesssss… Plus British Election “results” talk - recorded before the coalition government was formed.

Won’t have a new show next week due to examinations and such - we’ll be back to our usual schedule the week after when we are free men!
